The
math tutors and the Spanish tutors are BOTH included on the Gameboy Tutor
cartridge.
Are you
a parent? Interested in parenting or homeschooling? The
snapshots of the Gameboy Tutor™ screen,
below, will show you how you can help your child learn Math faster.
Or
watch
a video demo of the Gameboy Tutor™:
1
After
the introductory screen, the Gameboy Tutor™ asks the child
which tutor he or she wants to use. The child also hears a child's
voice (my son's) asking outloud "Which tutor would you like?"
Because
the Gameboy does not have a keyboard, we use the up-down
keys to make our selection.
Let's
pick tutor #3 - Multiplication. We do that by pressing the 'A'
button.
2
Second,
the Gameboy Tutor™ allows the child to select either NO
TIME LIMIT or a 12-second timer for each question.
The
Gameboy Tutor™ then allows the child to choose which multiplication
table he or she wants to work on.
Let's
pick multiplication table of 6.
3
The
first random question (question #1 out of 20 questions) is "12
x 6?".
THE
GAMEBOY TUTOR™ ASKS EVERY QUESTION OUTLOUD,
in addition to displaying it on the screen.
The
Gameboy Tutor™ randomly suggests '69' as a possible answer.
The child uses the up-down keys to change the suggested answer from
'69' to '72'.'
and
presses the 'A' button when done.
It
must be noted that the Gameboy Tutor™'s suggested answer is
random and is always CLOSE but never EQUAL to the correct answer.
4
The
child sees (and hears) that he/she answered the question correctly
After
displaying "CORRECT!" for 2 seconds, the Gameboy Tutor™
automatically moves on to the next question.
5
Here
the suggested answer is 33...
6
...
the child does not know the answer...and the time elapses.
We
press the 'B' button to move to the next question.
7
We
made it through the set of 20 questions!
The
child sees how well he or she did, and hears the sound of applause
coming from the Gameboy Tutor™.
The
child can choose to answer another set of 20 questions by hitting
any key.
